About the Owner:

Michelle Konkle

Growing up in rural Sauk City, I gained a deep connection with plants and the natural world. Inspired by this love, I attended the University of  Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Botany. I was also interested in helping people with healing and was drawn to pharmacy work. I have been a pharmacy technician for thirty years. In the meantime, due to traumatic and stressful events in my life, I started having troubles with my own nervous system and digestion. My sensitivities to medications and foods took me to a path of learning more about natural plant remedies and alternative ways of calming my nervous system.  This led me to completing the 2-year course in Western Herbalism with The Midwest School of Herbal Studies.

Through the years of working with customers in the pharmacy, I had noticed a more subtle understanding of people and the energy they brought with them. I became interested in energy medicine, especially after attending a local lecture by Richard Gordon, the founder for Quantum Touch.  I was intrigued by the success Richard was able to achieve in taking away people’s pain. With only a light touch the muscles and fascia would release, even causing spines and hips to go back into alignment after years of chronic malady.  I sought out a gifted medical intuitive in Janesville, Wisconsin, and with her I was trained in Reiki through the master level.  I also took a level 1 Quantum Touch course.

After the trauma took place in my life, I had attempted doing conventional talk therapy. However, nothing seemed to work and I actually felt re-traumatized every time I went in. I found it impossible to talk about very much without my body going into overwhelm. I eventually started working with a Somatic Experiencing therapist. For a full year he introduced me to various modalities that helped my body to come out of fight, flight and freeze responses and into a more regulated nervous system state of rest and digest. One of these modalities was Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). The improvements that happened in my digestion are nothing short of phenomenal. After this I was able to be successful with a psychotherapist and continue my recovery on a cognitive and relational level. With this personal experience of the success of Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises, I took the course with Red Beard Somatic Therapy in Madison, Wisconsin, and became a certified TRE provider.

Recently I have taken the training for Certified Peer Specialist with the State of Wisconsin. This has brought me a deeper understanding to assist people to find their own values, meaning, and goals. I would like to walk along side others on their journey so that my lived experience in mental health challenges and relational trauma can be a beacon of hope that recovery is possible.

I use my diverse set of experiences and trainings to bring a holistic approach to my sessions with clients. Each session is tailored to the individual person. I believe that when working with stress symptoms, pain, and dysregulation, it is important to access the wisdom of the mind-body connection. We can gently befriend the body and have compassion for ourselves in our difficulties.

I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.
