Michelle assists clients to move toward physical and mental health recovery and wellness. Using her expertise, Michelle helps a person to find and understand what their blocks to wellness are. In this way, they may release old patterns, gain better body function, and move toward a rich and meaningful life. Michelle uses person-centered techniques gained in Peer Support Specialist training with the Wisconsin Peer Specialist Employment Initiative (WIPSEI). The WIPSEI program works with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). She also uses physical practices to help people’s bodies to find calm, release tension and pain, and come back to balance.

A typical session may include talking to help the client assess values and goals, or to provide mental health support. With Reiki we can look for insights, or choose to let your mind drift as you soak up treatments in bodily awareness. TRE is a method that a person can learn to do at home to bring healing to the nervous system. Clients with more challenging life experiences and higher stress will want to do TRE sessions with me until they are able to self-regulate. Reiki and TRE work well as stand-alone therapies, and also as a supplement to what you may be doing with your licensed clinical healthcare providers. I am happy to collaborate with your healthcare team.
Depending on their goals, clients usually find it helpful to book at least their first 3 or 4 sessions once every week or so. Then, as desired changes take hold, they may book appointments less often until they come for maintenance sessions every month or two.

What I do as a Certified Peer Specialist:
Healing from trauma and adverse experiences benefits from connection to others who are understanding. Through my training as a CPS, I am able to draw from my personal experiences in mental health challenges and relational trauma to act as a support and a witness to your own journey. We can explore together your troubles and challenges, as well as your hopes, dreams, and natural strengths. This mode of support is positive and uses self-determined goal-setting. I also acknowledge there are many avenues to recovery from mental health and substance use challenges, and I can support you on your path. For more information on the role of a Certified Peer Specialist, go to the WIPSEI website.
Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing art. With only a light touch, it promotes healthy movement of subtle energy through channels within the body, which creates relaxation in the body and the release of blocks. As a result, this encourages healing and a feeling of well-being to take place in the body.
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®)
Relax muscular tension due to everyday stress, release painful patterns in the body caused by trauma or injury, and bring the nervous system into a balanced, calm state with this revolutionary system.
I extend a warm welcome to the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. All religious and spiritual beliefs will be honored.
Testimonial
“I started to see Michelle for Reiki in the fall of 2022. This was after months of daily pain, which I found out later was a herniated disc. Michelle was excellent! She took the time to get to know me and understand my concerns and what I was hoping to get from Reiki. What was interesting, and how I knew she was effective, was when Michelle started to do a body scan and she pointed out other areas where I was having chronic pain. These were injuries that I did not mention to her but she was able to identify that they were there. I didn’t quite understand how she knew, and maybe still don’t, but she was able to understand my body and the energy that may have been blocked. Michelle also introduced me to TRE. This was new to me and I am still practicing and discovering the powerful benefits of TRE. I have been an athlete all of my life and have old injuries from events and training, and injuries from when I was in the military, and have been on a path to healing my body. Michelle cares about the people she works with. She takes the time to get to know you and she strives to help you so you can live a better quality life. I like to find alternative ways to heal my body and mind because traditional medicine isn’t always getting to the core of the issue. Reiki and TRE have been part of my healing journey, and Michelle has been a wonderful guide through the process. She is a healer!”
